UBE at APAIE 2025 in Delhi

A delegation from Université Bourgogne Europe, consisting of Grégory Wegmann, vice-president responsible for European and international policy, Bénédicte Fortier, director of the International Department, and Pauline Wirth, international cooperation officer, took part in the APAIE Association for International Education (APAIE) 2025 in New Delhi to promote the institution’s internationalisation. Her involvement is part of a strategy to strengthen UBE’s global academic partnerships.

The 2025 edition of the APAIE conference was held in New Delhi, India, from 24 to 28 March. The event brought together more than 2,400 participants from over 68 countries. These players in the higher education sector came together to discuss issues relating to the internationalisation of education, the development of academic partnerships and student mobility.

The programme included:
- Plenary sessions led by international experts, focusing on the major trends in global education.
- Thematic workshops on subjects such as innovation in education, sustainability in institutions, equity in mobility, and international cooperation strategies.
- An exhibition area where universities, government agencies, networks and institutions presented their projects, services and offers for collaboration.
- Numerous networking opportunities, with bilateral meetings, social events and regional forums.

A total of 40 Indian universities had a stand, and UBE attended 15 of the 1,200 sessions organised. These sessions were devoted to various aspects of current international cooperation and the specific features of Indian higher education.
At the end of this edition, Grégory Wegmann, Bénédicte Fortier and Pauline Wirth were able to meet 14 universities from different countries. They were able to discuss with these universities how to set up new partnerships, particularly in science and technology for Indian universities.
The event provided an opportunity to strengthen links between institutions, share inspiring practices and explore new avenues for collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
