‘Ma Thèse en 180 secondes’: discover BFC’s regional finalists for the 2025 edition!

‘Ma thèse en 180 secondes’ competition, initiated in 2012 in Quebec by Acfas and launched in France in 2014 by CNRS and France Universités – formerly CPU (Conférence des présidents d’université) – invites PhD students to explain their thesis topic in three minutes, in an exciting and understandable way.

Each doctoral student has to present their research project clearly and convincingly, using a single slide. The competition gives them an opportunity to explain their work to a wider audience and develop their communication skills. Doctoral students receive training to help them capture the attention of an audience.
Each year, the Collège doctoral organises the regional final of the competition, where 10 regional finalists compete to win one of the two regional prizes (Public Prize and Jury Prize) and reach the national or even international final. The doctoral students also present their work to the region’s secondary school students, who award a Prix des lycéens to the favourite candidate.
