Who is eligible for an Erasmus+ study grant? What are the conditions of eligibility?

Students from the Université Bourgogne Europe who are going to study for a semester or academic year at one of the UBE’s partner universities as part of the Erasmus+ program.

Within the limits of the budget allocated to the UBE by the Erasmus+ program: all students from the Université Bourgogne Europe taking part in an Erasmus+ exchange are eligible, provided their application is complete and submitted to the UBE’s International Office on time.

You must also comply with European rules limiting the number of Erasmus+ grants you can receive.

• You can benefit from a maximum of 12 months of Erasmus+ mobility per cycle (3 years of bachelor’s degree = 1 cycle, 2 years of master’s degree = 1 cycle, doctorate years = 1 cycle).
• You can combine and cumulate your Erasmus+ study periods with Erasmus+ internship periods (see Erasmus+ internship grant paragraph below), but their total duration must not exceed 12 months per cycle.
• Even if you have already benefited from an Erasmus+ grant from another higher education institution, you can obtain new funding from the Université Bourgogne Europe if you have not yet reached the cumulative 12 months per cycle.
• Good to know: Erasmus+ mobility can be combined with other types of mobility offered by the University of Burgundy – if you have already completed 12 months of authorized Erasmus+ mobility per cycle, you can also study under a non-Erasmus+ cooperation agreement, or do an internship that will not be financed by the Erasmus+ grant.

How do I apply ?

Your grant application is automatically processed as soon as you have submitted your Erasmus+ mobility application via the International Office Mobility-Online form. No further action is required.

What is the application deadline ?

Deadlines correspond to the application dates for Erasmus+ exchanges:

• mid-February to May 15 at the latest for a first semester departure;
• mid-September to November 15 at the latest for a second semester departure.

In order for your grant to be paid out, you must complete your mobility file within the deadlines for the various stages of your application on Mobility-Online.

How much is the Erasmus+ study grant ?

The grant consists of a contribution to living expenses plus a travel supplement.

Contribution to living expenses during a study period

The amount is monthly and depends on the destination country.

• Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden: €350.
• Switzerland, United Kingdom: €350 (provided that the Université Bourgogne Europe has signed a specific Erasmus+ agreement with your host institution).
• Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Northern Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey: €300.

Travel supplement

This is a fixed fee, determined by the distance between the Université Bourgogne Europe and the host institution, as calculated by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ portal (straight-line distance).

From 100 to 499 km:

• 211€ in total without an eco-responsible means of transport,
• 285€ in total with an eco-responsible means of transport.

From 500 km to 1999 km:

• 309€ total without an eco-responsible means of transport,
• 417€ total with an eco-responsible means of transport.

From 2000 to 2999 km:

• 395€ total without an eco-responsible means of transport,
• 535€ total with an eco-responsible means of transport.

Eco-responsible transport

To encourage the use of eco-responsible transport, the EU has introduced a financial supplement for students who make most of their round trip journey to and from their host organization by train, bus or carpool.

• To benefit from this scheme, you need to upload the scanned transport receipts to your Mobility-Online file at the end of your Erasmus+ mobility (along with your end-of-stay certificate). The International Office will then correct the amount of the travel supplement by adjusting the amount of the balance of your grant to allow you to benefit from the eco-responsible transport supplement.

When will I receive my Erasmus+ study grant and travel supplement ?

Payment is not monthly – you will receive the full amount of your grant in two installments:

• 80% of the total once you’ve arrived at your host university and submitted your proof of arrival in your Mobility-Online space;
• the balance on your return (calculated on the basis of the actual period spent abroad), once you have submitted your end-of-stay certificate via your Mobility-Online account.

Can the Erasmus+ study grant be combined with other grants ?

Yes, it can be combined with:

• the complementary Erasmus+ grant for students with disabilities;
• Erasmus+ financial supplement for inclusion;
• the international mobility grant from the Conseil régional de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté;
• Ministerial aid for international mobility (AMI);
• Crous grant based on social criteria;
• mobility aid from the Franco-German University (UFA) for studies;
• potentially other grants available from other organizations.

Who is eligible for the Erasmus+ internship grant? What are the conditions of eligibility ?

Students from the Université Bourgogne Europe, starting from the first year of undergraduate studies, who go abroad for an optional or compulsory internship as part of their studies at the UBE.

Length of internship: minimum 60 days, maximum 360 days.

Internship period

• For students taking part during the 2024/2025 academic year, the internship must take place between July 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025.
• For students leaving for the 2025/2026 academic year, the internship must take place between July 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026.

Countries concerned: all countries.

Eligible host organizations: all private and public organizations, with the exception of those that provide trainees with European Union funding.

Cumulative Erasmus+ mobility rules must also be respected.

• You can benefit from a maximum of 12 months of Erasmus+ mobility per cycle (3 years of bachelor’s studies = 1 cycle, 2 years of master’s studies = 1 cycle, doctoral studies = 1 cycle).
• You can combine your Erasmus+ internship with Erasmus+ study grants (see the Erasmus+ study grant paragraph above), but their total duration must not exceed 12 months per cycle.
• Even if you have already benefited from an Erasmus+ grant with another higher education institution, you can obtain new funding with the Université Bourgogne Europe if you have not yet reached the cumulative 12 months per cycle.

The Erasmus+ internship grant is not intended to cover all the costs incurred by mobility, and the grant is not awarded systematically – it will depend on the budget allocated to the Université Bourgogne Europe by the Erasmus+ program and the number of students applying for a mobility program.

How to apply ?

• Fill in the Mobility-Online application form from the International Office at the UBE.
• Follow the instructions sent to you by e-mail to create your personal electronic space on Mobility-Online.
• Complete your electronic file by importing the required documents into your Mobility-Online space.

What is the application deadline ?

• Applications are open on an ongoing basis, within the limits of the budget allocated to the Université Bourgogne Europe by the Erasmus+ program.
• Your application must be complete before you leave for your internship, or your grant application will not be processed.
• Applications made in July and August will be processed from September 1.

How much is the Erasmus+ internship grant (2024/2025 academic year) ?

The grant consists of a contribution to living expenses plus a travel supplement.

Contribution to living expenses during an internship

The amount of the contribution is monthly and depends on the country of destination.

• Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom Vatican: €500.
• Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Northern Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey: €450.
• Other countries: €700.

Travel supplement

• 80% of the total once you’ve arrived at your host organization, and once you’ve sent your proof of arrival to your Mobility-Online account;
• balance on your return (calculated on the basis of the actual period spent abroad) and after transmission of the end-of-internship certificate to your Mobility-Online account.

The deadline for receipt of these documents is September 30.

Who is eligible for this grant ?

UB students with disabilities going abroad as part of the Erasmus+ program (semester/year of study or internship financed by the Erasmus+ internship grant).

This grant is awarded in addition to the standard Erasmus+ mobility grant for studies and internships, in order to meet the specific needs of an individual with a disability and to facilitate international mobility.

What costs are eligible ?

Eligible costs can range from specific accommodation, assistance from a companion during the trip, medical follow-up, material support, home help or even a life auxiliary. The number of grants may be limited, as funding depends on the budget allocated to the Université Bourgogne Europe by the Erasmus+ program.

What is the application deadline?

Applications must be submitted at the same time as your Erasmus+ mobility application, according to the dates indicated for each type of mobility: study at an Erasmus+ partner university or internship.

How much is the grant ?

The amount is calculated by the Erasmus+ agency on the basis of supporting documents provided by the applicant.

How is the grant paid out ?

The grant is paid in two installments :

• approximately 80% of the grant once you have arrived at your host organization and your arrival certificate has been imported into your Mobility-Online account;
• the balance on your return, once your file has been completed and finalized on Mobility-Online.

Who is eligible for this aid? What are the conditions of eligibility?

Students from the UBE who spend a semester/year on exchange or do an internship abroad as part of the Erasmus+ program.

This supplement is added to the classic Erasmus+ mobility grant for study and internships, to facilitate international mobility for students with fewer opportunities.

To be eligible, you must meet one of the following four criteria:

• student with a disability or long-term illness (ALD) – proof to be presented: attestation of MDPH decision or attestation of long-term illness or disability card, etc.;
• student with a higher education grant based on social (needs) criteria scales 6 and 7 – proof of entitlement: notification of grant award;
• student from a household with a CAF family quotient of 551€ or less – proof required: CAF family quotient certificate;
• students who have been category A jobseekers for over a year – proof required: France Travail certificate.

The number of grants may be limited, depending on the budget allocated to the Université Bourgogne Europe by the Erasmus+ program.

How do I apply?

You must import the supporting document(s) attesting to your situation into your study or internship mobility file in your Mobility-Online space.

What is the application deadline?

You must submit your application at the same time as your Erasmus+ mobility file, according to the dates indicated for each type of mobility: study at an Erasmus+ partner university or internship.

How much is the supplement?

250 euros/month.

How are payments made?

Payments are not monthly – you will receive the total amount of your supplement in two installments:

• approximately 80% of the total at the start of your stay, after your arrival certificate has been imported into your Mobility-Online account;
• the balance on return (calculated on the basis of the actual period spent abroad), after the end-of-mobility certificate has been imported into your account on Mobility-Online.

• Your application will be validated by the agents at the Université de Bourgogne and will then be processed by the agents of the Regional Council.

What is the application deadline?

Applications are open until October 25.

You must complete your application online on the Conseil régional website and validate it so that it can be forwarded to UBE agents. This must be done no later than 30 days after the start date of your mobility (the date indicated on the certificate of arrival at the partner university or the date on the internship agreement). If you are going abroad at the end of the calendar year, make sure you have completed and validated your application before October 25.

How much is the scholarship?

The amount of the grant depends on the destination country, the duration of your stay, your family income, the applicable scale etc. You can consult the grant simulator on the Conseil régional website.

How is the grant paid out?

Payments are not monthly – you will receive the total amount in two installments:

• 80% deposit once you have arrived in the host country and after the scholarship has been awarded,
• the balance on your return (after online submission of the certificate and end-of-study/internship report) calculated on the basis of the actual study/internship period spent abroad.

Who is eligible? What are the conditions of eligibility?

Students from the UBE who have been awarded a grant based on social (needs) criteria, and who are going to study or do an internship abroad as part of their academic program. For the duration of their stay, ministerial aid for international mobility is added to the social criteria grant.

To be eligible, applicants must:

• be enrolled at the Université Bourgogne Europe at the time of application and at the time of mobility;
• be recipients of a grant from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (level 0 bis included), or of an annual emergency grant from the Crous, in accordance with the conditions laid down in current regulations;
• undertake an exchange or internship abroad as part of their course of study, for a minimum of 59 consecutive days;
• be working towards a national diploma under the authority of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (bachelor’s, master’s, BUT, etc.).

Ineligible candidates:

• students receiving an honorary loan;
• doctoral students;
• students enrolled in university diplomas (DU and DUETI);
• students who have already benefited from the maximum amount of 3,600 euros that can be awarded under the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research’s International Mobility Grant scheme.

How do I apply?

When you apply for an exchange or internship, you can submit your application using the Mobility-Online form. When you fill in the form, simply specify in the appropriate section that you will be receiving a grant on social criteria during the year of your exchange, and your application will be processed automatically.

• Access to the study form (which you can also find under Studies abroad and Double and triple degrees pages).
• Access to the internship form (which you can also find above, under Erasmus+ internship grant).

Please fill in only one form per mobility.

For example,

• if you are going on an exchange as part of the Erasmus+ program: when you fill in the study application form, you will apply for the Erasmus+ study grant and the ministerial aid;
• if you are going on an internship and wish to apply for both the Erasmus+ internship grant and the ministerial aid, you need only complete the internship application form once.

Don’t forget to specify on the application form that you will have scholarship holder status based on social criteria even if you haven’t yet received an official reply from Crous. If your scholarship holder status is confirmed, you’ll need to attach the final Crous notification to your Mobility-Online file as soon as you receive it, and we’ll consider your request for ministerial aid. Students leaving on an internship must also submit the internship agreement in their Mobility-Online file. Without this document, your application will not be considered.

What is the application period?

The application period corresponds to the application dates for the different types of mobility (studies, internships) – your request for ministerial aid will therefore be processed at the same time as your study/internship mobility application.

What is the amount of this aid?

The amount may depend on several factors:

• country of destination;
• length of stay;
• the number of applications received;
• the budget allocated to the Université Bourgogne Europe by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

Estimated amounts to be awarded to eligible students, within the limit of the budget allocated to the UBE by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

Good to know : if you take part in several international mobilities during your course program, you can apply for this ministerial aid more than once. Even if you have already benefited from ministerial aid from another French higher education institution, you can still apply to the Université Bourgogne Europe. Please note, however, that the total amount a student can receive during his or her time in higher education cannot exceed 3,600 euros.

Payment is made in a single installment several days or weeks after your arrival at the host organization, and after your arrival certificate has been imported into your Mobility-Online account.

Who is eligible ? What are the conditions of eligibility ?

Students from the University of Burgundy enrolled in integrated Dijon-Mayence programs, with the exception of bachelor’s and master’s programs with the University of Bologna.

UFA study grant

• For study stays in Mainz and Opole (as part of the Europa Master program).
• Up to a maximum of 10 months per academic year.

UFA internship grant

• For compulsory internships stipulated as such in the study regulations of the various integrated courses.
• The internship must take place in a German-speaking country or in Poland (for Europa Master students).
• If the internship takes place during your study period (e.g., between two semesters), you will only receive the UFA study grant and will not be able to combine it with the UFA internship grant.
• If the internship takes place before or after your study period, you can receive a maximum of 2 additional monthly payments corresponding to the UFA internship grant.

What is the amount of this aid?

350/month for a maximum of 12 months per academic year, including study and internship grants.

How do I apply?

If you are definitively selected to join one of the Dijon-Mayence integrated programs supported by the Franco-German University (UFA), your application for mobility aid will be processed automatically when you register with the UFA.

What is the application deadline?

Selected students must register with the UFA every year until they obtain their Franco-German double-diploma. Registration must be completed by September 30 of each year (firm deadline).

How is this aid paid out?

The UFA mobility grant is paid in full at the end of December for a first-semester departure, and in mid-June for a second-semester departure.

Can this aid be combined with other aid?

Yes, it can be combined with:

• the complementary Erasmus+ grant for students with disabilities;
• Erasmus+ financial supplement for inclusion;
• the international mobility grant from the Conseil régional de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté;
• Ministerial aid for international mobility (AMI);
• Crous grants based on social criteria;
• potentially other grants you may be eligible for from other organizations.

The UFA study grant can also be combined with the Erasmus+ study grant.
The UFA internship grant can also be combined with the Erasmus+ internship grant.

• Grants offered by the ministry of your country of origin.
• Grants for international mobility from your regional or general council, from the town council of your city of residence in France or in your home country.
• Student internship grant from the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ), which provides funding for young people doing an internship in Germany.
• The CRIJ association lists several other possible grants on its website.
• Aid from associations such as the Rotary Club Dijon Bourgogne, which offers grants to students in disadvantaged situations who are planning an internship abroad.
• Assistance from the embassies of your destination countries.
• Support for internships from the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
• Various organizations offer financial assistance for very specific projects: research stays, thematic internships, cultural and linguistic discovery of a country, internships for young graduates, individual studies… In the majority of cases, these are grants that you can use to finance international projects outside your course of study at the Université Bourgogne Europe, but some of these grants can also finance your study or internship abroad as part of your course program at the UBE. These include the Eole excellence grant from the Franco-Dutch Network, or the grant from the Franco-Bavarian Center for University Cooperation for studies and research internships in Bavaria.
