International Day of Women and Girls in Science

On February 10th, Université Bourgogne Europe is celebrating International Women and Girls in Science Day!

This special event highlights women and girls who are passionate about computer science. Join us for a day full of inspiring talks, interactive games and stimulating discussions.

Whether you’re a student, a member of staff or just curious, this day is for you! Join us to celebrate the women and girls who drive science forward.

During the day, come and test your knowledge of women in computing at the event organised by the Pavillon des Sciences, where teams will be formed after registration.

The conference and round table will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and listen to the various testimonies of women who will be sharing their experiences in the field of computing.

Morning: (venue to be confirmed)

  • 9am: Welcome coffee
  • 9.30am: General introduction by Edith Salès Wuillemin, vice-president in charge of Quality of Life at Work
  • 10am: Quiz on women in computing – led by the Pavillon des Sciences

Afternoon: Salle des Actes at the Maison de l’Université

  • 1.45pm – 2pm: Coffee reception
  • 2pm – 3pm: Computing: a bastion to be reclaimed by women – Lecture by Marinette Savonnet followed by discussion
  • 3pm – 4.30pm/5pm: Round table discussion on women in IT, with the participation of female volunteers from the Digital Department, Ms Savonnet and students from the IT degree course.
