Democracy Week 2025 – University of Agder, Norway

From May 2 to 6, 2025, the University of Agder is organizing Democracy Week, putting democracy at the heart of the alliance’s campuses. Students and academics are invited to propose activities and ideas to integrate Democracy Week on all FORTHEM Alliance campuses.

This event is part of the European Conference on Democracy and Human Rights, to be held in Kristiansand on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Students can sign up to:

  • Propose concept related to the themes of democracy, human rights and freedoms to be implemented on their home campuses during late April-early May
  • Attend the European Conference in Kristiansand. FORTHEM scholarship is available for 4 students per university. 
  • Individual students or student groups are interest in adding to Democracy Week on your campus, – we will help you to get involved on your campus.

Academic staff can propose event ideas or concepts for Democracy Week 2025:

  • Participate as speaker or panel member, digitally or in Kristiansand.
  • Collaborate on preparing discussion topics for the live events.
  • Plan and record an online seminar about a topic related to their field.
