A look back at the UBE’s Employment and Apprenticeship Week

This year, Université Bourgogne Europe has decided to combine the two events ‘Semaine de l’emploi’ and ‘Journées de l’apprentissage’ into a single format. This merger of the two previous events will enable a better response to the needs of students and businesses. As a result, these two events have been transformed into the Semaine de l’Emploi et de l’Apprentissage (Employment and Apprenticeship Week), run jointly by the SEFCA and the PFVU. It took place from 6 to 14 March 2025 on the Polytech premises and at the Salle Multiplex in Dijon.
The aim of this event is to bring together students, recent graduates, work-study students, recruiters and professionals, to encourage people to enter the world of work, to gain a better understanding of the needs of the job market and to create opportunities for meetings and exchanges to meet employers’ expectations.
This year, the emphasis was on discovering the professional field of research, R&D and innovation. Students were able to find out about the structures and companies recruiting in these fields, as well as the careers and jobs on offer.
Throughout the week, the event included a number of activities designed to support participants in their career development: among the various highlights, the week began on 6 March with the ‘Rencontres de l’Alternance’ (Work-linked Training Meetings).
For the occasion, around twenty companies came to meet Polytech Dijon students. The aim was to find out about work-linked training opportunities, exchange ideas and develop synergies, and find out what the companies’ needs were.
The week then unfolded around a number of highlights, including practical workshops on writing CVs and covering letters, job application desks for personalised support, round tables and conferences on the challenges of the job market, disability in the workplace, employment law and apprenticeships, immersive and participative activities, information on apprenticeships and the different routes available, and job dating for direct meetings with recruiters.
Research, R&D and Innovation Careers Forum
One of the major events of the week was undoubtedly the Forum des Métiers de la Recherche, de la R&D et de l’Innovation, held on Thursday 13 March in the Salle Multiplex on the Dijon campus. From 1.30pm to 5.15pm, students were invited to exchange views with professionals during various activities: a professional student coffee/tea, meeting professionals on their stands, two round tables on AI and Research and on the skills and know-how needed to do research.
UBE laboratories were present at the forum: Biogéosciences, TIL, CREGO, LIB, ICMUB, as well as CSGA and INRAE. For a closer look at the world of research, doctoral students presented their work in the Experimentarium.
Still in the field of university research, various research-related bodies came to meet the students, including the Pôle Universitaire de l’Innovation, the UBE research centre, DECA BFC and SATT SAYENS.
On the professional side, four start-ups (Fluonir, Socna Sol, Son and Ektah) and eight companies (Santenov, Vitagora, BIVB, Nuclear Valley, DAVI, CVA, EDF and Sulo) came to present their establishments.
