The residence for female students

The residence for female students

After the residence for men opened in 1924, it was necessary to do the same for the female students of the university. This happened in 1930 when, thanks to the department and the city, the university built a residence on the Boulevard de la Trémouille, near the École normale d’institutrices, with a large lounge, work rooms, a rooftop terrace, and forty-five rooms – which soon proved insufficient in number. Today, the building is used by the Regional Council of Burgundy.
