Georges Scelle (1878-1961), legal scholar

He entered the University of Dijon in 1912 before being called up for military service in World War I. This experience explains why, from the 1920s onwards, this professor of international law did everything he could to preserve peace between nations. But his positions earned him enemies: when, in 1925, he was appointed to Paris, the Action française attacked him, resulting in his return to Dijon. He finally left the city of Dijon in 1933 for Paris. An amphitheater is named after him.
