Henri Drouot (1886-1955), historian

After studying in Dijon, he was called up for military service from 1914 to 1919, after which he taught in various high schools and founded the Annales de Bourgogne in 1929, before being recruited as Professor of History at the University of Dijon in 1938. His works, of considerable scope, concern the history of his region, and particularly the period of the Ancien Régime (Claus Sluter, Tabourot des Accords, the League, etc.). The amphitheater of the former Faculty of Letters is named in his honor.
