Lawrence Clark Powell (1906-2001), American librarian and writer.

Following his university studies in the United States, he left for the University of Dijon to prepare a thesis under the direction of Professor Georges Connes. Entitled An Introduction to Robinson Jeffers, it dealt with the American poet who celebrated nature and lived in solitude and was defended in 1932. Upon his return, he became a librarian in prestigious institutions, authoring a great many works over the course of his career.
