Arnaud Montebourg (born in 1962).

Born in the Nièvre region, he studied law in Dijon in 1980, then enrolled at Paris I and then at the Institut d’Études Politiques (Paris). He nonetheless remained attached to his native region. He joined the Socialist Party in 1985 and was elected deputy for the Saône-et-Loire from 1997 to 2012. In 2014, he became Minister of Productive Recovery, a position from which he resigned in 2015. In 2017, he retired from politics, before announcing his return in 2021 for the presidential election.
