Le Creusot University Library

Le Creusot University Library

The library is located in the former “Halles aux grues et locomotives” (Hall of cranes and locomotives) of Le Creusot. It took the architect Pierre Colboc 7 years of study and work to rehabilitate this vast brick building. He was able to create new spaces while preserving the old industrial structures such as the cranes that dominate the reading room. Opened in 1998, the library is today a bright and functional space, which confidently embraces its dual function as a place of both heritage and information.
