Guy Canivet (born 1943 in Lons-Le-Saunier), jurist

Initially enrolled in the Faculty of Letters in Dijon, he finally opted to study law and obtained a postgraduate degree in private law and criminal science. He became an examining magistrate in 1972, and his career then unfolded in a number of prestigious institutions: Chamber President at the Paris Court of Appeals (1991), First President of the Court of Cassation (1999), member of the Constitutional Council (2007 to 2016), member of the IOC Ethics Commission (2007), etc. He was the sponsor of the 2014 class of the Master’s Degree in Procedural Law at the University of Burgundy.
