International students (before 1940)

From the 1900s on, foreign students came to Dijon thanks to the Comité de patronage and its summer courses. In addition, there were students who enrolled directly, many of whom were studying for doctorates. After the war, the University of Dijon first welcomed 200 American student-soldiers (1919-20), while foreigners arrived in numbers, especially for the summer courses, and from farther and farther away: Europe, Tunisia, the United States, Lebanon, and even China, before the flow of incoming foreign students diminished after 1930.
