UBE welcomes the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo for the conference: ‘Charlie Hebdo: 10 years and now?
On Tuesday 4 March, Université Bourgogne Europe was delighted to welcome Riss, the editor of Charlie Hebdo, Coline Renault and the cartoonist Juin to a conference entitled ‘Charlie Hebdo: 10 years and now?
Organised as part of the university tour by the Génération Charlie association and the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo, the event was attended by 450 people, most of them students.
At the conference, led by Maël Bonnaire, a student on a master’s 2 course in local authority law, Riss and Coline discussed their ideas on freedom of expression and the principles that now guide the newspaper’s new editorial team.
Many issues, such as secularism and the relationship with the media, were raised and explained freely by the Charlie Hebdo editorial team.
The audience then had the opportunity to address the Charlie Hebdo editorial team directly in a question-and-answer session.
